Sweet Baby Boy

Time flies by...yesterday was Kehlton's 2 month check up. He's doing great!! His new stats are as follows:

Length: 22.5"
Weight: 11.1 lbs

Both of which are the 50th percentile. Compared to Brychan who was always in the 90th percentile for everything, Kehlton is still just a tiny little thing! We asked the doctor about all the puking, and it was decided to treat him for either a milk allergy or acid reflux. And since Mom doesn't eat enough dairy to cause so much of a reaction from Kehlton (Milk? Ewww!) we decided to start treating him with Prevacid for the acid reflux. We start that today...I really hope it helps him. The doctor did say he'd probably just outgrow it with time.

I was hoping Kehlton would take his shots as easily as Brychan did, but no such luck. We spent the majority of the afternoon/evening trying to console a screaming baby. He was not a happy camper. So sad!! But, he slept well last night and seems just as happy as can be this morning.

I am constantly amazed at how smiley and talkative Kehlton is already. He is such a happy little boy who is already drawn to his big brother. We love Kehlton so much and cannot get enough of his cute, cute smiles!

I guess I'm outing myself as stalking your blog.

My little boy had a dairy intolerance as a baby, and was on Prevacid for reflux as well. In my experience, the Prevacid won't stop the projectile vomiting. ANY dairy made him puke, not just a glass of milk - a bite of a cookie made with butter, milk chocolate, pancake mix... you have to be sure to remove even hidden sources of dairy/casein.

It's easier now than when he was tiny because food labeling laws now require dairy to be called out in the ingredient list. Also, dairy and soy have very similar protein structures. If one is bothering him, the other could be as well. We had to cut both from our diet.

We removed them completely for over two years. He was about 2.5 when we started to add milk back in slowly. Most children with food intolerances (rather than true immune allergies) will outgrow them by the time they start school.

good luck!

have you considered a different allergy? I have had to stop eating eggs while I nurse Tyson because his spitting up looked like poltergeist, it was so bad!! I had to try cutting out different foods (apples, tomatoes, chocolate) before we concluded that it was in fact eggs...
