Easter

Easter was Brychan's first trip to church...I took him to Sacrament Meeting only. He only got to go because it was Easter and I really wanted to go to church! His first full Sunday will be the day of his blessing (April 13). I meant to get a family picture on Easter Sunday, but couldn't stand wearing my church clothes while waiting for Dave to do some home teaching after church. Oh well! Family photos will happen soon enough. We will definitely get some for Brychan's blessing! Anyway, this is Brychan's first Easter, and his first little Easter outfit. I know it's ridiculous, because he's too young to care or even notice, but I felt so guilty not doing the whole Easter "thing" for my son...eggs, basket, etc. But, I know how irrational it would have been to spend all the time and money on it when he has no clue what's going on! However, next year...the Easter Bunny will TOTALLY be stopping at our house!! :)

Meeting the dogs

The dogs are so good with Brychan. In fact, we've started calling Biggs "Nana" (from Peter Pan) because he is SO attentive to the baby. The first week we were home, Biggs just sat at our feet and stared at Brychan ALL day long. Now, anytime Brychan cries, Biggs is immediately at our sides, moaning and crying along with Brychan, and he gets pretty frantic with us, like he's telling us to "fix the baby now!!!". There have been a couple of times where Biggs has brought one of his balls in and laid it in Brychan's lap while he's sitting in his bouncy chair, and just laid down next to him as if he's waiting for Brychan to play with him. We wondered which dog would end up being Brychan's...I think it's very safe to say it will be Biggs!

Hospital Photos

We're finally back up and running, which means I have lots of catching up to do! Here are a few photos from the hospital...I cannot believe how much he's changed already!

Brychan David Stander FINALLY arrives!!!

Our little boy decided to join us at 9:46am of March 4. I had originally been scheduled to be induced on March 2 but got bumped because the hospital was too full. They rescheduled me to be induced at 9:30am on March 4, but Brychan decided that he would come on his own, and I went into labor at midnight on the 4th. After calling Dave to come home from work around 2:00am, we went to the hospital and less than 10 hours later, Brychan arrived (he would have been here a good 2 hours earlier had his head not got stuck against my pelvic bone).

I have to say (for all my friends who are also expecting their first babies), labor and delivery were nowhere NEAR as horrible as I had expected. Looking back on it, I actually kind of enjoyed the whole experience. That doesn't mean I'm not in a little pain now, but thanks to some great meds, it's really no big deal, and I really am looking forward to the next baby.

Unfortunately, the blog won't let me post photos right now. I will as soon as I can!! I am absolutely in love with this little boy. I am SO blessed to not only have such a wonderful husband (who is already the most adorable daddy), but now I have an incredible son too. How did I get so lucky?!?

If you're in our area - come visit!!! We'd love to see you!
