Snow Day!

This week, with all the snow, I decided it would be fun to take Brychan out to play. We bundled up in snow pants, mittens, coat and hat and headed outside. Of course, I don't know if the 20 minutes it took getting him dressed was worth the 5 minutes he was willing to put up with the play, but at least we got some cute photos!

I think he would have stayed outside all day had it not been for the snow clothes. He hates that he can't move around freely in them!

First Hair Cut

This week, Dave decided he was ready to tackle Brychan's shaggy, hanging over the ears, hippie-mullett type hair that no amount of lotion, water or gel would help. While Brychan was sleeping, Dave attempted to trim it up a little bit. While it didn't turn out too bad, there are some definite bald spots. At least it's not hanging over his ears anymore!

And what is it about becoming a mom that makes you cry about everything?!? I was fighting off tears with the first hair cut...he's too little to be needing this already!

After (the best shot I could get. Should have taken this one while he was sleeping as well)

Thanksgiving

This year, we made the trek (all 19 hours of it!) to San Angelo, Texas to spend Turkey Day at my parent's home. My youngest brother was awaiting his mission call (he is going to Billings, Montanta on March 11), so we wanted to make sure that the entire family was able to spend some time together. You will have to forgive me as there are a lot of Thanksgiving photos I want to post!

Unfortunately, our first day there, Dad and the boys were off to play some pool when Dad started having major chest pains. After a 911 call and trip to the ER, he was given EKGs and a stress test (which he passed with flying colors) and was sent home the next day, just in time for Thanksgiving dinner. However, he was called back to the hospital and was given an angiogram which included a stent in his heart. He was told that not only does he have coronary disease, but that he also had a heart attack. The rest of our time in Texas was spent with Dad in the hospital. He is doing great now, but it was kind of a bummer since Dad hasn't gotten to spend any time with his newest grandchildren as of yet. At least we got to have our turkey dinner together!

Brychan and Grandpa

Reagan, Payton and Brock with Grandpa. We had a birthday party for Brock, which we ended up doing at the hospital for Dad's sake. Happy 6th Birthday, Brocky!

Brychan and Payton

Dave ended up with a new best friend during the week. Reagan and Brock have always loved David, but Brock seemed to especially bond with Dave this trip. They really enjoyed this viewing of Iron Man.

More Thanksgiving

Brychan absolutely LOVES his Auntie Ashley! We have never seen him attach himself to somebody like he did with her. It makes us that much more sad that she lives so far away!

Having too much fun with new toys at Grandma's...

With Ashley

We were trying to take some family photos and Ash just happened to snap this one. I LOVE it!!

And, I love this photo just because you can see Brychan's two little teeth so well!

David does such a good job at getting awesome pics of Brychan. How did his eyes get to be so blue?

Nothin' but TROUBLE!

I don't know what's come over my son the last couple of weeks, but all of the sudden he is so stinkin' funny! He's become extremely playful, is laughing at everything and has become very, very mischievious.

In one 24 hour period, he completely emptied a box of tissue and a box of 250 diaper baggies (one at a time, of course) and had them strewn throughout the house. Later that afternoon, I put him down so I could take some photos of the hallway floor. I turned around, and this is what I found! The remainders of a loaf of bread, emptied out on the floor with Brychan having eaten or nibbled on every piece. He has been known to carry a loaf of bread around the house with him, but when did he figure out how to get it open?!?

Fall Cleanup

Evidently, somebody has forgotten to inform the weatherman that November is almost over and the weather is supposed to be getting colder. Not that we're complaining...60 and up is a nice, end of November surprise!

Last Saturday, we took a break from putting the house back together and went outside to clean up the yard. Brychan sat out there for over an hour watching us work. Next year he won't get off quite so easy! :)

I am trying REALLY hard to get the blog all caught up before we head out of town next week, and then have the holiday rush to work through! This is one of Brychan's favorite places to be...he loves watching the world go by!

New Floors

As requested, here are some photos of our newly redone floors. More photos will come once Dave gets the baseboards done. But these will give you an idea!

We did these stripes just in our room and the hallway.

The living room and office floors look like Brychan's floors. Brychan's room just happens to be the most put together at the moment.

We made it!

30+ hours of sanding, almost a week of staining and topcoating, several splinters and 13 days later, the floors are finally done and we are back home. YAY!!! We are still in the process of putting the house together, and will get photos of the floors up ASAP. David did a beautiful job on them - he should be very proud!

In the meantime, here are a few Halloween photos of Brychan.

Nightmare on 2nd St.

So last week, I was SO excited because we were going to start refinishing our hardwood floors over the weekend. We were under the impression that it was going to take 2-3 days, so I packed suitcases for Brychan and I and everything else in the house was packed up and moved out.

We thought that the sanding would only take a few hours. Well, after 21 hours of nothing but sanding, the sanding still isn't finished. HOPEFULLY, Dave can get that done today. Then another day for staining, and 3-4 more days for topcoats (which we didn't know took so long until Friday night...information that would have been helpful much earlier), another day for me to wash down all the dust covered walls and THEN we can start moving everything back in. So. All the adorable Halloween photos of Brychan will have to wait for probably another week, as will any other posts. We are still alive - just buried in wood at the moment. My husband is such a trooper doing this pretty much by himself. And thanks so much to Jeremy and Michelle for letting us crash at your house for the week!! And I promise to get all caught up with the blog once our lives get back to normal!

Hulk Baby

Dinner time is always an adventure of sorts and it is NEVER quiet. Usually, Brychan is just grunting his approval of his dinner, but every once in awhile, he gets amazingly impatient and just wants his food RIGHT NOW. The line in Incredible Hulk that says "You wouldn't like me when I'm hungry..." That is SO Brychan. And that's the line Dave quotes during dinners documented in the photo below. There is quite the growl coming out of that adorable little mouth...

Witch Hunt

Earlier this week my friend, Marie, and I took the kids to Gardner Village to "hunt" for all of their fun witches. Our reward was 25 cent chocolate chip cookies. It was a fun way to spend the morning!

Ben, Sam, Brychan and Grace (getting all 4 of them to sit still all at the same time was practically impossible)

Little Haunts

A few days ago, we went to Heritage Park for their "Little Haunts". They have trick or treating and different activities in many of the buildings throughout the pioneer village for little children. I love autumn and Halloween and this was a perfect activity to "celebrate" both.

Growing and Growing and Growing...

My baby is now 7 months old. I can remember vividly what I was doing this time last year being 4 months pregnant (griping because my clothes were too tight. Funny - still griping that those same jeans are too tight). Where does the time go?!?

Brychan is crawling all over the place at record speed. He is also walking along the furniture and will even go from one item of furniture to the next if he's positioned correctly. The other night he stood up in middle of the floor all by himself. His doctor guessed that he would be walking by 9 months. I'm afraid she may be right. Or that it may happen sooner. He just does NOT want to be little! His two bottom teeth are in and he loves using them! His favorite thing to do? Dump the soil out of my potted plant, by the handfuls, onto the carpet.

Grandma and Grandpa Davis sent a fun new toy that just happened to arrive in time for his "birthday". It was a hit! Thank you Grandma & Papa...he loves it!

Trip to the Zoo

Last week, we went to the zoo with aunts and cousins (and an uncle!). This was Brychan's first trip to the zoo, and he seemed to enjoy it much more than I had expected. As long as the animals were moving and were able to catch his attention, he would sit and watch what they were up to. However, I think he still had more fun watching his cousins!

Pumpkins for Sale!

On Saturday, Grandma & Grandpa Stander had a pumpkin party for the Primary children in their ward, so I took Brychan up to Twin Falls for the day. JR & Linda planted an entire pumpkin patch for this event, and the kids had a blast! Even though all the activities planned were obviously for older children, Brychan still had SO much fun! After the party was over, he was so happy to play with Grandma & Grandpa for a few hours!

Watching the kids play

About half of the 130 pumpkins JR picked for the event. Their garden is still full of pumpkins...

Brychan with his "loot". Each child was supposed to get 3 pumpkins. Obviously, we came home with a few more. Grandma & Grandpa put a few more in my car than I realized. So if anybody needs a pumpkin for anything...we've got you covered!
