Vitamin D

Since it's been a bit cooler this week, we finally have a nice patch of grass in our yard and I recently learned that children in Arizona have a higher risk of being Vitamin D deficient (thanks to we moms who won't let the kiddies step outside without a thick slathering of sunscreen year round) we took our afternoon snack outside.
Clearly enjoying the leftover Doritos he stole from Mom and Dad's lunch

Summer Fun

Sometimes it's okay that my kids are often found without all their clothes on. Sunday afternoon, I was greatful for it! We had just changed a bum when Brychan noticed that Dave was outside getting ready to put dinner on the grill, so he made a dash for the backdoor. And then he discovered...

SPRINKLERS!!! This is the first time we've really used sprinklers since we've been here. Had I made sure he was fully dressed before he went outside, his dress pants would have ended up just as soaked as his shirt. I'm glad he's discovered how much fun running through the sprinklers can be...I'm sure we'll be doing lots more of this over the next 3-4 months!

And just a cute one of Baby K. That cute little round face...you can just see his dimples in this photo.

This Week -

Just a couple of videos from this week's excursions.

I thought Brychan was a water baby, but he's nothing compared to Kehlton already! Kehlton loves jumping in, going under and swimming all over the place. He LOVES swim lessons (as does his big brother)

And...feeding the horses!

Apples and Carrots

The other night as David was taking the missionaries home, he drove by our dream house which happens to be neighbors with a horse property. Brychan loves all things farm animals and was happy to sit and watch the horses for a minute. Their owner came out and invited David and Brychan to come back anytime with treats for the horses, and Brychan came home very excited to tell me that he was going to feed the horses (he calls them neighs) apples.

So, on our way home from swim lessons Tuesday morning, we took one very excited little boy to feed two very excited horses some apples and carrots.

On our way home from visiting the horses, Brychan asked if he could feed some cows an apple. Sorry, kiddo. We don't know any apple-loving cows. You'll have to keep your horse friends. He talks about the horses and their apples every day, so I don't think that will be a problem!

Patience Is A Virtue

That I evidently need to work harder on teaching to my son.

He begged and begged for a bubble bath the other morning after an excursion to buy some new beach toys. David and I both kept telling him to wait until before bedtime so we wouldn't have to do two baths (little boys in the AZ heat cannot make it all day without needing at least a rinsing).

He couldn't wait. Thankfully he forgot to put in the plug and only had the water turned on to a slight drip.

Growing...

After laying Kehlton down for his afternoon nap, I went to check on him and found this:
What?!? He just started crawling!! What makes him think he's big enough to stand up now?

As I went to get the camera and came back to snap the photo, big brother came in and yelled "Yay, Baby K!!!". How nice to have your own personal cheerleader. :)

Lesson Learned

Friday night, we went to see Toy Story 3 at the drive in. It was LaLa's first time at the drive in and once we explained to Brychan what we were doing, he was SO-O excited!!

While we enjoyed the movie, and Brychan did have a blast, it was still way too hot. It cooled down to about 100 once the sun went down, but that was still too uncomfortable to truly enjoy the flick. We'll try again in December!!

My 3 Boys

I am in LOVE with this picture

I snapped this the evening of the 4th while we were waiting to go watch fireworks. It's the only photo we took that day, but I absolutely love it.

Quick updates? My now 8 weeks of working so hard to lose this weight has resulted in gaining 7 pounds. That's right. I've added 7 pounds instead of losing ANY pounds. UGH! So, I went to the doctor Friday afternoon to try and start figuring out what the problem is, because obviously, there is a problem. Her bet is a messed up thyroid thanks to my post-partum status, but we're still waiting for blood results to come back. In the mean time, I'm still working out but not watching my food intake quite as carefully (I fell off that bandwagon over the holiday. Still trying to get back on). I hope we figure something out soon. This is so amazingly frustrating.

The boys are still loving swim lessons. They are both now blowing bubbles in the water like pros! I hope I can get a photo of Kehlton's bubble-blowing...SO cute!! Baby K is still in the process of trying to get some teeth in and they are giving him a run for his money. Poor little guy has had a rough go of it. Baby K also moved out of Mommy and Daddy's room this week and into his crib in Brychan's room. They both really seem to enjoy having the other one in there! Mommy on the other hand is still trying to adjust.

All in all - all is well! Nothing too exciting or important; just catching up on my "journaling" before somebody asks me to please update the blog! :)
