Privacy

A few of you have asked what prompted us to make our blog private. It's kind of hard to explain, but by watching my Feedjit feed, I could see that we had visitors coming on a regular basis from Russia and Africa.

Normally, I wouldn't really mind too much, but at one point, my Russian visitor was visiting all of the links to friends and family I had posted and then randomly taking key words or names from those sites and combining them to link back to our blog. Does that make sense? Probably not. But, I didn't feel comfortable with whatever it was that they were trying to do. So, between that, the fact that my boys are frequently shown sans clothes and David's security/safety precaution train of thought, we decided it would be best if we went private. I would hate it if something happened to my children or one of our friends/family due to our blog accessibility.

And now you know!!

Last Call!!!

Our blog will be going private this weekend, so if you want to continue reading (or just skipping the reading and just want to glance at photos...), please send me your email address. You can just leave a message or email me at alyssacdavis (at) hotmail (dot) com.

Thanks!

Steamboat Springs

Here's a few photos from our vacation to Steamboat Springs, CO with David's family last week. We had so much fun and really enjoyed the cooler weather and spending time with family.

David and Brychan doing some hiking at our first rest stop. This was a 13+ hour drive each way, but the boys did GREAT. Not a single peep out of them. Yes, I know we're lucky.

Mormon Battalion Monument outside Albuquerque, New Mexico

Several family members decided to go tubing down the Yampa river. Brychan had a blast with Daddy, while Mommy and Kehlton took photos and played at the park.

We then hiked up to some falls, and the kids all jumped in the river below to play.

Bug and Ellie

After several days in Steamboat Springs, we went down to Denver for Taylor and Riley (David's nephews') baptism.

Baby K playing in the 'Fird's backyard

And Brychan flying his airplane.

**And a quick update: Both boys had eye exams yesterday. Brychan for his normal quarterly visit, and Kehlton just to make sure that we catch any similar problems early on. It was good news all the way around!! Kehlton's eyes are currently perfectly normal (although that could changed...we just have to watch) and Brychan got a new prescription because his eyesight has improved. And...no more patching!!! For awhile, at least. We may revisit that at our next appointment in 3 months. It was a very exciting visit for Mommy!!! :)

Bucket Head

I know I should be getting vacation photos up first, but I wanted to hurry and get this cute story down before I forgot!

This evening, "Minute To Win It" has been on in the background with nobody really paying attention. Or so I thought.

A game called Bucket Head came on (the contestant has a bucket tied to the top of their head and they have to bounce ping pong balls off a wall and catch them in the bucket on their head), and before it was over, Brychan was saying "Brychan's turn! Mommy - bucket hat and ball!". He went and told his daddy that he wanted to play "the game with the bucket head, wall and ball". Too cute!! Daddy came to the rescue and came up with a modified, toddler version of the game. Brychan LOVED it!
Daddy and Bug
(Sorry so blurry!! Too much action!)
Daddy's Turn
Mommy's turn

Too much fun!

The Time Has Come...

For this little blog to go private.

I've been debating about doing this for the last month or so, as we've had some strange activity on our blog. So, for my children's sake, we will be making this "by invitation only" soon. You are more than welcome to continue following and reading - just let me know so I can send you an invite. This means that you will have to have a google account in order to log in, but it's super quick and easy to do.

Just leave me a comment if you want an invite! In the meantime, our recent family vacation photos will be up as soon as I can get to them!

Happy Monday!

Fried Eggs

This weekend, the highs in Phoenix were right around 112. HOT!!! So, while Dave was busy doing this all afternoon...

Ashley and I were doing this...
We wondered if you really could fry an egg on the sidewalk (we've heard that you can actually bake cookies in your car, but that was too much work).

Turns out it's a little slow, but yes, you can fry an egg on the sidewalk (it did fry more than this, but I got tired of caring about it!).

Ashley proving she is just as much of a grease monkey as David, or any other boy for that matter!

And tomorrow, we're headed here.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado. For an entire week. Yes, their weather right now is the equivalent to our "dead of winter", and we will probably be freezing while everybody else is enjoying the sun, but we are SO excited!! Lots of fun photos when we get back for sure!

San Diego

This weekend, we made a quick trip out to San Diego. "Oh fun!" you might say...but not so quick...the entire purpose of this trip was for me to get a root canal. David's friend Cary, is a GREAT endodontist, and was kind enough to fix my tooth for me. Not only that, but his family even let us stay with them. We did manage to squeeze a little fun in, though!

The Ortons live in Poway, which we discovered is an adorable suburb of San Diego. They have the cutest downtown area with an even cuter train park. Brychan loved it!

We also spent a couple of days at the beach. We had been talking about this trip for some time, so Brychan was pretty excited about going to the beach. As we rounded the corner and first saw the beach, Brychan just said "oh wow!!" as if it were the most amazing thing he had ever seen. He LOVED it!!

Kehlton didn't care for it so much the first day, but the second day he had a lot of fun.

He particularly enjoyed the sand. In his chubby little hands...

And all over his cute little face.

David especially enjoyed the boogey board. I spent a little bit of time on it (it was just too cold for this Arizona girl), and Brychan had a turn as well.

Daddy and Bug out to catch a wave.

Despite the reason for our trip, we really had a fun time and enjoyed spending time with the Orton family. If you ever need a root canal specialist, I say it's worth the trip to visit Orton Endodontics!!
This was also a great practice run for our big family vacation coming up next week in Steamboat Springs. Luckily, both boys are great travelers. Can't wait!!

Potty Training?

I think this is a step in the right direction...

When Life Gives You Lemons...

Eat them all up!!

Monsoon

This is our first good monsoon storm of the season. Sorry the video moves back and forth...I forget what I'm doing while taping!! Luckily, we had only minor damage (a few rooftop shingles, broken light fixtures, and some water leaking through all our windows and the back door), but others were no so lucky. Our next door neighbor's HUGE tree snapped in half and landed in the street where they usually park. Luckily for them, they didn't park there this night!

These storms are always so much fun, but never last long enough.
