Nicknames

Around here, Brychan has several different names - all by different people. For example. When he was first born, David called him "Bugaboo". Now, that has been shortened to "Boo".

Grandpa Davis calls him "Butter-brickle". Not sure where that came from, but I thought it was cute.

A few months into his life, I started calling Brychan "Bug" (no correlation to David's "Bugaboo"). Not sure why, or where it came from, but I love it and he answers to it, so it's all good.

His newest name? "Ya-Ya". A family in our ward loves how Brychan rambles "ya-ya-ya-ya-ya" while emphatically nodding his head (usually at nothing, but just for fun), so they've started calling him by that.

I'm not sure if this will confuse him down the road or not, but for now he seems perfectly happy answering to any of the above! He may not be so willing in 12 to 13 years from now! :)

I'm guessing Butter-brickle might be one of the first to go after he decides he is "manly." Butter just doesn't scream big boy. Ellie is bug too. We thought she looked like a lady bug, then it was Ellie bug, and then just bug. Aren't our bugs cute!
