Brychan's Music Video Debut

So yesterday, David taught Brychan how to use a little kazoo that Brychan found. He thinks it's fun to watch Mom and Dad play the kazoo too. This afternoon, as I was working on the computer, I noticed that Brychan had been humming to himself for quite awhile. I looked over to see this:

Unfortunately, he moved once he saw the camera and wasn't so willing to keep going, but you get the idea.

Then, a few minutes later, I was singing to Brychan, and he busted out with the dance moves. You'll have to forgive the singing - the focus is Brychan!

What a little cheese!!

Trip to Twin/Early Easter

This weekend we made a quick trip up to Twin for a big play date with cousins from Colorado and Layton. We had so much fun! This was Brychan's first time to ride on the 4 wheeler, and he LOVED it! Everytime he saw it outside, he was pointing like mad and grunting. He would have stayed on it all day if somebody would have been willing to drive him around.
Getting a ride from Grandma

And then with Daddy

Sunday morning, Grandma & Grandpa made sure the Easter Bunny made an appearance, so we had a quick little Easter egg hunt.
With all the cousins - Brychan could not figure out why everybody had buckets on their heads...

But it didn't take him long at all to figure out what was going on. I had been debating whether or not to do a "hunt" at home on Easter, just because I wasn't sure he'd get it. He got it! And I think it's safe to say the Easter bunny will be hiding eggs at our house too!

Nathan to the MTC

Nathan reported to the MTC on March 11. He's going to the Billings, Montana mission. Brychan had fun helping him pack!

Our little family

Nathan & Brychan. They really bonded during my family's visit!

Most of my family. Brock's family stayed in South Dakota, and Ashley wasn't able to make it either. We missed you guys!

Brychan's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Brychan's birthday a week late so that my family could participate as well. Nathan took his endowments out that same afternoon, so it was fairly late by the time we got to do birthday stuff. Brychan was very serious for the affair!

The birthday cake. My first one - so don't be too judgemental!

Digging in

Playing with Nate

I know his face doesn't show it, but he really loved the set of balls he got from Grandma & Grandpa Davis

Happy Birthday, Bug! We love you!!!

Daddy's Little Helper

This afternoon, David pulled the carpet cleaner out to clean the rug in the living room. Brychan had so much fun helping! He did really good at getting out of the way while David pushed the cleaner up, and then Brychan would hurry up and meet David at the other end of the rug to help David as he pulled the cleaner backwards. There was lots of clapping once the carpet was done - he knew what a good helper he was today!

Gratitude

I've been wanting to do this post for a few days, but have been unable to figure out the exact words so far. Still not sure I'll get it right, but we'll give it a go!

I really am a very blessed girl. I have my wonderful family who has supported me in everything my entire life. I have loving and supportive friends who are all willing to drop everything in order to help me if needed. I have an amazing husband, a fantastic marriage and a beautiful little boy. My husband's family is just as wonderful as my own, and I love them all to death. More importantly, I have a Father in Heaven who truly is mindful of my little life and all the important people in it. Heaven knows my life is not perfect (!!). I have had my fair share of drama and grief to deal with. But through it all, it is crystal clear that there is a Father in Heaven who has his hands in everything and provides everything I need. And it seems that the worse, or harder, the situation is, the more He is involved.

Words cannot express how grateful I am that my little family is safe and sound. That we are happy, healthy and thriving. I am madly in love with my husband. I adore our son. And even though life is not easy, and horrible things do sometimes happen, I am confident that life will only get better as we go on!!
