So, after being on the market for well over a year, the house in Phoenix STILL has not sold. However, papers were signed today for a woman and her roommate to rent the house for the next 6 months to a year...and they are very interested in an option to buy. While this isn't our ideal "fix", at least it is something to help ease our minds. Who would have thought that we'd ever be landlords?
I also thought that for all of you who don't get to see Brychan on a regular basis, I would let you know what he's been up to and give you bits and pieces of his little personality, as it is definitely starting to shine! I cannot believe he will be 4 months old already next week. Time flies!! This weekend I packed away all his 0-3 month clothes, which was very sad for me. While I am SO sad to see him getting so big already, I love watching him figure things out every day. His major accomplishments? He loves playing with his toes, rolls over from his tummy to his back with hardly any effort at all (makes tummy time a bit more difficult now...), he watches Dave and I like a little hawk, and tries his hardest to pick up every little thing he can. His favorite thing to grasp? Two huge handfuls of my hair. Tonight, he had his first taste of rice cereal, and he LOVED it! Dave could not get it in his little mouth fast enough. I wasn't too excited about starting the cereal so soon, but the kid acts like he's starving ALL the time, and any time a fork/spoon passes his gaze, his whole head follows after it. He is trying so hard right now to sit up all by himself. He hates to be laying down. And he gets so mad when his toys don't do what he wants them to do. I haven't figured out what he's wanting from them, but it's obvious they're doing the wrong thing!
Personality wise? He's a little cheese...will give the cutest little grin when he knows he's supposed to be doing something other than what he's currently doing (like playing instead of eating). He hates going to sleep; I've seen just a handful of babies fight it harder than he does. Naps are few and far between. When I am lucky enough to get him to nap, it's usually just for 30 minutes at a time. He loves music and to be sung to, and just about anytime he's fussing any song will soothe him. Although tonight as I was trying to get him to sleep, he sounded like he was singing along with me as yet another tactic to prevent himself from succombing to sleep. He seems to be very sensitive, as I watch a friend's 6 week old baby once a week and every time she cries, Brychan gets the saddest little face and cries right along with her. He almost always has to have a fistful of some sort of cloth in his tiny little fist. His favorite thing to cling to right now seems to be a burp cloth. He snuggles with those when trying to fall asleep. He is a very happy baby, with lots of smiles and giggles, and today I got his first big, belly laugh out of him.
He has his 4 month old well check in 2 weeks - I am very interested to see how much he's physically grown the last 2 months. He's already outgrown many of his 3-6 month clothing. Crazy!!
That's enough bragging for one night. I'm just really sad that all of my family and some of Dave's, as well as a lot of friends, don't get to see Brychan enough to really know him. Hopefully this gives you a little insight into this little boy we love so much!!
